A client of mine — I'll call her Linda — had been purchasing a monthly hormone supplement protocol from the woman who did her massages.
The products were expensive, beautifully packaged, and came with a lot of confident language about "balancing hormones naturally."
The massage therapist had completed an online certification from the supplement company itself.
Linda trusted her. Why wouldn't she? She called herself a hormone specialist.
Here's what Linda didn't know: the certification trained practitioners to sell that company's product line.
It was not a medical credential. It did not authorize anyone to assess, diagnose, or treat hormonal changes. And the supplements Linda was taking were not FDA-regulated.
This is happening everywhere right now — and the women paying the price deserve to know the difference between a real credential and a marketing strategy.

🎬 Balance: A Perimenopause Journey — Available on Amazon Prime Video (rent or purchase)
Two Jain monks — and filmmakers — set out to find answers for their own worsening perimenopause symptoms and discover just how deep the misinformation, prejudice, and medical ignorance around women's hormonal health really goes. Along the way, they sit down with medical professionals and patients to discuss diagnosis, treatment, and access to care — and take a hard look at the long-lasting damage of the 2002 Women's Health Initiative study. Featuring voices you may recognize — including Dr. Mary Claire Haver and Dr. Vonda Wright — this four-part series doesn't just name the problem. It highlights the science, the experts, and the growing movement to bring evidence-based care back into the conversation.
